Tracks taken from the LP ‘Hammond Fever’ | (Deacon Records DEA 1057) 1974
Hammond Fever | “Instrumentals” | (Deacon) | I found this album a few weeks ago in an RSPCA charity shop and it was sitting there in a box of recently donated records which mostly all smelled to high heaven of cigarette smoke.
But for £2 I took a chance mainly because there’s a version of “Light My Fire” which was basically written around a swirling Vox Continental organ, so surely the studio musicians working for Deacon records had an easy template to follow.
All of the tunes are era defining and I’m glad I gave it a chance to enter the realms of ‘Junk Box Jury.’
The most popular instrument in popular music! The top hit titles of recent months! A superb musician plus super backing! What more could you want!
