LP sleeve

Mungo Jerry | Cover Version | “Alright, Alright, Alright”

Taken from the LP ‘Hot Hits – Volume 20’ (MFP 50062) August 1973

Back in the early ’70s it was common-place to see young skinny lasses in bikinis fishing by the riverside. Sadly, times have changed and so has the music.

‘Hot Hits’ on the popular Music For Pleasure budget label had LP sleeves that made young scamps looking for the pick-and-mix stand in Woolworth’s to stop in their tracks and buy records instead.

There are several decent cover versions on this one but my choice goes to Mungo Jerry‘s “Alright, Alright, Alright”, which in itself was an updated take on the French Jacques Dutronc stomper “Et Moi, Et Moi, Et Moi” from October 1966.
