Taken from the LP ‘Top Of The Pops – Volume 67’ (Hallmark SHM 3002) July 1978
I can remember “Airport” blasting out of the radio back in the day but didn’t know who it was by until I did some research on this late seventies entry from the ‘Top Of The Pops’ crew.
By the way, I have zero allegiance to anything that I’m posting on ‘Junk Box Jury’, and until recently have never given any of the songs much thought until I started my hobby of buying cheap budget label compilations from junk shops and beyond. See my About page.
“Airport”, a top five hit for the Motors fills all the requirements of a cover version that I want to hear. A memorable tune recorded with aplomb and professionalism.
It’s time to unwrap your Curly Wurly and listen to this while you’re chomping away.
