GLEN CAMPBELL

Glen Campbell | “It’s Only Make Believe” | Capitol

Taken from the LP ‘The Glen Campbell Album’ (Capitol ST 22493) 1970

These are some of the best songs of our time, performed by one of the great entertainers of our time . . . Glen Campbell.

glen, of course, is the main attraction on this album, but he’s supported by one of the most talented groups of people ever assembled.

Their names make an impressive list: Al de Lory – a music business executive and multi-talented composer / performer as well – produced the album.

Jerry Reed – one of today’s brightest new song writers – composed “Turn It Around In Your Mind”, a song Glen moulds to meaningful perfection.

Jimmy Webb – the already fully-famous composer of the decade – is represented by “MacArthur Park” and “Just Another Piece Of Paper.”

Other great contemporary names include Paul Anka, who had a hand in writing “My Way”; Paul Simon, who immortalized himself with the classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water”; Bobby Russell, a major contributor with “As Far As I’m Concerned”, and there are still more . . . all eminent creators of our time.
