Taken from the LP ‘The Soul Of Sounds Orchestral’ | (World Record Club Ltd T 768) 1965
To some, the name of SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL will not be new for they will remember an attractive little item called, “Cast Your Fate To The Wind”, which managed to wriggle its way into the Hit Parades of nearly every country in the world.
To others, however, SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL has yet to be discovered and so it is with this in mind that I am proud to introduce “THE SOUL OF SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL”.
Soul is a word much used, or would it be more correct to say mis-used, in this day and age of popular music. According to the dictionary, SOUL is defined as follows:— that part of a man’s nature where feelings, ideals, and morals centre.
I feel there are no better words to define SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL, for into its creation has gone more than all of these three things. Before one can fully understand or appreciate the SOUL of SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL, one must first examine the HEART of SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL and discover just how and what makes it tick.
The foundation of all this is the piano, played with phenomenal technique by JOHNNY PEARSON. John, who by his musical talents has helped the careers of many artistes, such as Cilla Black, Lena Horne and Shirley Bassey, has the power at his fingertips to command the piano to shout the sounds of excitement one minute and whisper the sounds of tenderness the next.
In support are bass and drums, played by Peter McGurk and Kenny Clare respectively. Both are true masters of their art and both give SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL the benefit of every ounce of their talent.

To complete this heart of ours are the strings, or to be technically correct, nine violins and one cello. They should not be forgotten for under the skilled leadership of TONY GILBERT, they are able to take you on journeys of dreams and allow you to lose yourself in worlds of paradise.
All this is the HEART of SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL. In order for SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL to function properly, it must be suitably produced and directed both artistically and technically.
Sounds Orchestral | “Starglow” | (World Record Club Ltd)
The SOUND of SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL is just as important to its success as anything else. This is looked after and is solely complimentary to the skill of RAY PRICKETT, who rightly guards its success with secret jealously.
If we now blend all these things together, remember them and allow ourselves to relax a little, listen a little, and perhaps dream a little, then we Will understand the SOUL of SOUNDS ORCHESTRAL. (liners)
