Taken from the LP ‘Surf, Beat, Fun’ | (Hor Zu SHZE 175) 1966
The Beach Boys | “Shut Down” | (Hor Zu) | Flint boys from California: lively, funny, musical: the Beach Boys. Three of them are called Wilson: Dennis, Brian and Carl (the first guitarist). Their father is an experienced composer; the three Wilson sons have learned a lot from him. The fourth in the bunch: Mike Love, a cousin of the Wilsons.
He also wrote the Beach Boy hit “Surfin’”, and in no time at all, America’s West Coast was thrilled by this surfer hit. The fifth Beach Boy: Al Jardine, a former schoolmate of the Wilson brothers.
Is there anyone else missing? Yes: Barbara Ann, the adored girl. Title heroine of the Beach Boys hit that shot to the top of the German Schlager charts in April 1966, final number of this HOR ZU LP.

The Beach Boys don’t want to reveal the last name of the dark-haired girl. In reality, her name is “Barbara N.” They mean that clan they possess what all American boys find so remarkable about American girls: enthusiasm! Summer sounds: the Beach Boys are a worldwide success!
Young West Americans, as they are written in the book: surfers to notes, cavaliers out of passion, musicians with a twist, gag and fun. Boys who know where the sun rises.
The Beach Boys | “Shut Down” | (Hor Zu)
Their main pleasure is called “Surf”. In German: Spray! The white ripple on the azure blue wave crests in front of California’s Kliste. This “Pacific snow” is an excellent place to ride: elastic, full speed and always in front.
SURF, BEAT and FUN is the slogan of the Beach Boys: spray, rhythm and joie de vivre! (back cover liners in German translated into English)
