Tracks taken from the album on (Aries 1003) 1971
This is the start of a new angle on my blog when I herald long-forgotten junk records I find in the usual places on death row. Instead of choosing one track to represent the the album I’m going to pick five highlights. Make of them what you will.
The Mike Morton Congregation seemingly blitz through some of the latest hit records, churning them out in a cheap London recording studio. The back of the sleeve claims that all of the numbers were recorded live at Majestic Studios, Clapham, London. However, I’ve read that the applause and audience participation was dubbed onto the tapes after the recordings were in the can.
Sometimes when I get home, clean, then check the record over I realise that the wrong disc has been filed away inside the incorrect sleeve. And this is what has occurred here.
‘Non Stop Party 22 Hits’, released during 1971 has found it’s way inside the cover for Volume 2, issued the following year. Oh well!
