SOUNDS SENTIMENTAL

Exploring Decca’s ‘Sounds Sentimental’ Compilation

Beatles tracks taken from the LP ‘Sounds Sentimental’ (Decca MOR 26) 1979

Exploring Decca’s ‘Sounds Sentimental’ Compilation | The ‘Sounds’ series of mostly instrumental passages on the Decca label was short-lived, probably from 1978-1980 period. They’re not that common to find in charity shops, this ‘Sentimental’ edition being my first find in four years.

The tunes are updated versions of some classic numbers most people will be familiar with including “Those Were The Days”, “Moon River”, “Yesterday” and “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”.

Orchestras involved:

Werner Muller & his Orchestra
Mantovani & his Orchestra
Frank Chacksfield & his Orchestra
Cyril Stapleton & his Orchestra
Roland Shaw & his Orchestra
Ivor Raymonde & his Orchestra
Roberto Mann & his orchestra
