Tracks taken from the album “Ob La Di” on (Embassy EMB 31032) 1973
Marmalade | Ob La Di | (Embassy) | MARMALADE are one of the most successful groups to emerge from Scotland in the last five years, they are also a classic example of how far it is possible for a group to expand and progress without losing their original identity.
This compilation of the group’s past hits certainly proves their versatility, as they perform songs by such popular composers as Lennon/McCartney, Bob Dylan, John Sebastian and the Bee Gees, and heavier material such as “Hey Joe” and “Piece of My Heart”, with equal style and ability.
The line-up on this album is Pat Fairley — six string bass guitar, Junior Campbell — lead guitar, Dean Ford — lead vocals, Graham Knight— four string bass and Alan Whitehead—drums.
Although the personnel has changed a lot since the days of “Ob-La-Di” and “Wait For Me Mary Anne”, the music on this album has played a vital part in the progress of one of our most talented and musically satisfying groups.
