Taken from the LP ‘Blues N’ Bras | (Boulevard 4065) 1971
Blues N’ Bras | I Wish You Would | (Boulevard) | Well, this cheapo LP didn’t turn out to be what I expected but who could resist such a charmer on the cover displaying her bra and pants. I’ve got no idea what she’s got to do with the record, but who cares? I certainly bought it because of her.
I had a theory in my head that this was a low-budget album of blues numbers recorded by the same session musicians employed by the various copy-cat albums of the day. But no! It’s a combinations of blues, sometimes jazzy, by The Creoles and The New Orleans Five.
It turns out that The New Orleans Five were really The Bob Brunning Sunflower Blues Band and they certainly steal the show with their late sixties laid-back and sleazy blues rock.
