Taken from the LP ‘Sylvie’ | (RCA Camden CDS 1093) 1971
Quite how a Sylvie Vartan LP made it into a junk box in a Charity shop is puzzling, especially when the establishment is in Houghton, a run-down ex-pit Town on the outskirts of Sunderland.
I’ve been searching for junk records, in all the usual places, for three years and this is the only Sylvie Vartan record I have encountered on my travels.
She has rarely had any of her records released in Britain, even at the height of her popularity in the sixties.
Apparently, ‘Sylvie’ is a re-issue of a 1967 LP issued in France on RCA Victor. Back in 1971 the inquisitive Brit could have bought this for 25 pence!
Highly recommended.
