HOT HITS 15

Lynsey De Paul | Cover Version | “Getting A Drag”

Taken from the LP ‘Hot Hits – Volume 15’ | (Music For Pleasure MFP 50050) November 1972

The series of ‘Hot Hits‘, continued with another blond dollybird getting up to mischief on her sledge. I don’t think MFP’s budget extended to sending her to the Swiss Alps for some keen promo shots. The nearest hill with fake snow had to do. But what a lass!

No credits provided for the equipment and fake snow used. I’m thinking everything was nicked from the nearest Woolworths.

Cover versions include “Lookin’ Through The Windows”, by the Jackson 5, “I’m Stone In Love With You”, by the Stylistics, the prehistoric rocker “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John and more twinkle-eyed pop in the shape of “Rock Me Baby”, by David Cassidy.

“Getting A Drag” reached No. 18 in the British Charts for Lynsey De Paul. It was the quirky follow-up to the Top 5 hit “Sugar Me”.
