NON STOP PEPSI PARTY

Denny Wright and the Hustlers | Cover Version | “Something”

Taken from the LP ‘Non Stop Pepsi Party′ | (MFP 50098) 1974

Denny Wright and the Hustlers | Cover Version | “Can The Can” | The premise of this record was to create a ‘party LP’ with a sack of money Pepsi Cola had left in the offices of Music For Pleasure. Then splash the cash on creating a studio group laden with any professional music hack who needed to provide some grub and clothes for his kids.

Presumably, this was Pepsi’s attempt to cash in on the cover-version craze sweeping Britain at the time and what better way to get the kids guzzling your cola, but to give them a cheap LP they could spend their pocket-money on then slaver over the skinny lass on the cover.

Weren’t the early 70s something else?
